    Default Colour consultants/interior designers

We are in the midst of changing our kitchen, wall, trim and floor colours. For the last year the boss and I have been arguing over colours, textures. We had argued to a standstill and could not progress. About 8 months ago I said we needed help from a pro, not because we didn't know what we liked, but because we could not put it all together.

Last night we finally had someone come in and she was worth her weight in gold. After 45 minutes she we had broken the back of all the problems, chosen colours, textures and schemes that we liked and agreed with.

If I added up my time spent in arguing I'd have to put it in weeks of either lost work or remodelling effort.

If you find yourself in the same situation I highly recommend getting someone in to help. It cost $150 which I reckon was a fraction of what the advice was worth to us. We can now get on with it and stop living in a half remodelled house.

They are certainly worth it, my folks got one in when they were doing their kitchen and she made it a much easier and smoother experience

All black? I wish it was that simple, the arguments we've had have been ridiculous. You wouldn't credit the problems a simple decor update could cause.

I'll never do it again without a consultant

Sometimes I think you need to spend all that time arguing/disagreeing/compromising so that you end up with a better all round solution.

Jumping in without having gone through that process can sometimes yield terrible results, because you haven't spent enough time considering all the options and possibilities.

By the time your designer came in I would bet that you both would have already known basically what you want and what you definitely didn't want in a kitchen.
    Cheers.

Couldn't agree more. I am lucky in that we have colour consultants at work and their help made my kitchen reno so much simpler.
