Hi

We are renovating (restoring) an old Victorian terrace circa 1880 that has been savaged by a 70s reno. The house has been pretty much striped of all original features as we are in the process of putting some of these back in place. The house is single fronted, single storey.

I had a couple of questions prior to buying the plaster moulds:

1. Which size cornice should we be using? We want to use the Victorian style cornice that was probably originally there. We have found a number of different sizes. We are doing the front part of the house: 2 x bedrooms (3.5mx3.5m) and the hallway. The ceiling is 3.3m high.

2. Are ceiling roses supposed to match - do these normally match in the two front rooms or is it more common to have different ceiling roses?

3. Should we be putting up a hallway ceiling rose or are they more for the double storey / big entrance type?

I'd be most grateful for your advice!
