Evening all,

I have decided to paint the inside of our house during the Christmas period. We bought our house 2.5 years ago. It was rebuilt in 2001, with all internal walls replastered and painted.

We are repainting exactly the same colour (off white), as the windows/doors are double glazed aluminium all powdercoated the same colour. I had planned to paint two coats on ceiling, walls, skirting (as this is what I have always done), however, a couple of mates have questioned this. I have a few questions for you all:

- The paint is in good condition - no peeling, just a fair few marks from moving in and general wear. Do I need two coats - the advice I am getting suggests one is fine if it is the same colour in good condition?

- Do I need to paint the ceiling? There are a few marks which will wash out, but no peeling or deterioration in condition.

I am using Dulux low sheen as a friend gets big discounts at the trade centre.

Any advice appreciated.

Tom
