I have been spray painting some doors with enamel paint. Overall, I have been happy with the results; the spray gun (HVLP running off a small compressor) has worked well, I only thinned the paint very slightly and it has flowed perfectly through the gun.

I hung the doors up vertically on hooks in the garage, so I could spray both sides and the edges all at once. In a couple of spot, I oversprayed and some little waves like ripples of sand at the beach emerged a couple of minutes later, from the paint sliding down the face of the door.

Will it be possible to sand back these ridges prior to doing my next coat of paint? If so, should I use very fine sand paper or rough paper?

Thanks,

Zac
