1st Anniversary Urn
Hi all, seeing that it’s my first anniversary on this forum and that I’ve survived a year of wood turning without any major catastrophe, I thought I would try and make something that shows the direction I want my wood turning to take hopefully. It might be a Mallee burl, not sure, a mate saved it from a campfire , and it measures 9” x 6”.
Thanks to all who have made constructive comments and encouragements throughout the year, the knowledge obtainable on this forum is incredible. Cheers Harry

I like it
All that ash/burnt bits must have been cruel on your tools . Why would anyone want to burn a burlNeil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new

It looks like a 1000 year old pot dug out of some archaeological site. A look I really like.
Impressive work, well done.Dragonfly
