    The FE model (2nd from the bottom) might well be the fore-runner to the Stubby with it's auxillary bed and separated headstock - but I can't work out what the crank at the end of the bed would be for
    .

    I'll bet it moves the tailstock in and out, I see no locking lever on the tail stock........ ?
