Just loctite the inserts to the appropriate headstock threads and don't bother with the grub screws in the chuck?

(Dunno about Vicmarcs but I know this works with Teknatool's chucks. )

    Default Adapter

    Hi Sam,

I have one of the bigger Jet lathes (1442) and it has a 1" x 8tpi spindle thread and came with an adapter to make it a 33 x 3.5, so I know that they are made. Try at your local Jet dealer, they might be able to point you in the right direction.

    Hope this helps,

    Richard
