I made this this afternoon . Needs more work yet . Think I'll make a couple more then see how I go . The size of the Wadkin Gap is something that had to be bridged without the banjo on such an angle I think, for this bowl any way . On more of an angle and Ill be able to get across to a platter. It's Solid and rigid. The post size is 1/18 on this lathe . I may try some round bar bent off the 40 x 40 box tube on the next one .

Neil, that makes perfect sense. I haven't been turning that long, always thought it was dusty, dirty and sometimes with a lot of noise. That is, until I watched someone turn a piece of rubbishy looking timber into something really nice; in the space of about 15 minutes.
Picked up the bug, picked up a second hand lathe, got to the point I wanted more, bought a new lathe; haven't looked back and am having a ball.
Mick.
