    Default Turning Air

Wel as the title that is what it felt like making this piece. This turned box it measures 7" long X 3 1/4" wide and stands 7 3/4" tall. The main body is turned from Ash, the box is Sapele and the finial is holly stained black.

Well done, & an interesting piece. The title had me thinking "air guitar" practicing all the moves for that perfect piece.

Makes it easy to get the shavings out! But not so easy to hollow. Nice action shot!

Now that is a real challenge, you are a brave man. The end product is certainly worth the effort.

That's got to be a first, starting with one of the whitest timbers, then turning it black

Yep I agree but it is good for things like finials and the like, I have just chopped up a 6ft X 9" log into some blanks I also still have another one the same size along with a short 6"dia piece

Nice going on this piece. Looks like a fair amount of fun making this.

Sorry for late reply. Anyway thank you guys. Just an update I have changed the finial (luckily I had not glued it in place run out of glue Oops).

In the photo the one on the left is the original and the right with the new finial. Also took a better photo as the first ones where rubbish.
