air reduction bottles 1&2 litre bottle etc
Have been looking for a supplier for some time for this product. After I have had several go off in the bottle But a litre then throw half a litre away.
If you use Floods products or Wipe On Poly or any other product that can go off in the container due to air etc then go here
VANBAR ONLINE CATALOGUE
Air reduction storage bottle - Darkroom Accessories - PRA Imaging
You will notice the shipping charges are a bit over the top, around $20 each I have requested a quote for 30+ bottles from the USA (minimum order) as the USA prices much lower, so pm me if your interested in being part of a bulk order.Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working. — Pablo Picasso

A similar product is available from Lee Valley over the 'Net - clear-ish sides, large mouth. I have several, didn't even think about photo chemicals

What a brilliant idea!!
That beats decanting your finish into smaller containers. I'm going to have to get one of these!
Thanks

As a retired photographer I have been familiar with retarding oxidation for many years.
The accordion bottles may hold quite a bit of viscous liquid in the Vs.
The flexible non-accordion bottles can be squeezed until the liquid is up to the top. Be sure to get high density bottles if you go to a chemical supply house.
The thinner ones let oxygen through the walls. (Probably why my DO, carefully decanted into vitamin bottles is turning to jelly.)
One trick was to have a jar of clean marbles in the darkroom and add marbles to
replace developer taken from the bottle.
Another is to put a squirt of inert gas into the bottle before capping. Tilt the cap off and put the nozzle in and give about 2 seconds of gas. CFCs were used early on for blowing dust off negatives, so we used that.
The new compressed gas cans for cleaning computers are supposed to be safe for the environment. This is probably the most convenient method.
One could also use propane by removing the burner from a propane torch and curving it down so the tank is more or less upright when dispensing. Propane is heavier than air so it will go down to the surface of the liquid and stay there.
I know it is flammable, but many oil based spray paints use propane as a propellant. Maybe that is why they are sometimes called spray bombs.
Those of you who have TIG or MIG welding equipment could use a squirt of CO2 or Argon. So much timber, so little time.
