    Default Another blackwood vase

Another blackwood vase and this one had it all; rot, grubs and a large hole from a fracture were a branch broke off when the tree fell down. Turning was a bit of a challenge due to internal rot, holes, grain running in all directions and what solid wood there was, was bone hard. But I was happy with the final result.
Vase is about 240mm in diameter and 280 high, finish is Danish oil then buffed with EEE.

    Comments and criticism welcome.

Awesome and extra well done with the incomplete rim part of it. EEE is your final finish?

    Thanks for the comments.
Yes EEE is the final finish. I like to give Danish Oil a buff using EEE after it has had a week or two to harden. Brings a nice sheen to the finish

A great job .There would have been no problem clearing the shavings from inside this one .

Thanks Ted, the grubs had started the hollowing for me. Drilled quite a lot of the center out with a forstner bit and battery drill. there was a lot of rot on one side of the inside which put it out of balance if I got the piece up to a good turning speed. The other side was hard as a goats forehead and with the tool only cutting on some 2/3 of the diameter it would have made hollowing difficult.
