I can trust that when sanding time comes nobody will help - haven't found anyone who likes sanding yet.

Turned up thank you. 3 Lovely items, do you have a preference for the photos (large, small flat or small bowl) or will i pick. It will be a hard decision.

if nothing else having the bowls sent here is pushing my standard up.

No work today so i spent a few hours in the shed. I have about 5 bowls finished and dont consider any of them good enough yet - campared to the others already received - last chance tonight, a platter from the end of a red log that Carl & i slabbed when i was in Queensland. - hard as hell to slab so not sure of the turning properties yet.

    Thank you again.

    Cheers
    regards

    David

Have tried my best to take good photos for you.

    Heyonly6daystogo.

    Running out of time folks,

Yesterday and this morning in the shed and Calm has finished his entry - not really of the standard of the others on the loungroom floor but the best i can do. - Amazing how everytime you finish it then have a look there are still BL&^%DY F$%#*&G sanding marks so back to 120 grit and all the way up to 400 - more eee - more glow.

Boy i bet Neil & Jim like these comps great for sandpaper & finishing sales

Still its done now, until the judges have a look - (mental note have judges work in dark room)

Anyone want more time just yell out.

    Cheers
    regards

    David

Is this before the photos must be in, or when the finished product must be in your hot li'l mitts? (I guess I should scroll back and find out, but... I'm inherently lazy. )

I know exactly how you feel. For various reasons, mine needed a lot of hand-sanding that couldn't be done on the lathe. I've only just applied my first coat of DO and...

...I can now see all the sanding marks I missed (plus one or two tool marks! )

Do I sand back? Do I say "stuff it" and apply the next coat tomorrow anyway? Do I have the time to get 3 or 4 coats of DO on before it needs to be entrusted to [shudder] the postie?
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

'Tis probably where it'll en up.

Dunno if he'd appreciate a coffee-scroll after it's been subjected to the indignities of Oz-post though...

, is the format for the photos the same as for posting i.e. < 100Kb and max 800 x 600 pixels, or can the photos be larger format?
