Bud vases
Here are a couple of disc bud vases with eccentric lattice inserts.
The first is red cedar with ebonised neck and base . The inserts are claret ash .
The second is an unknown timber which was an offcut from a staircase rail and came from NewZealand . It is hard and heavy . Suggestions invited . The inserts are allso ash but have been stained .The discs are about 210mmX50mm and the finish is DO

Nice work. Scaled up that would also be a good design for a table lamp.

Thanks for the comments .I agree I should adapt this design for a lamp . I had tried previously with a similar design with an eccentric hole in the middle and planned to fit a hollow tube to take the wire but could not accurately line bore a hole to take it . With this design I could just run the wire through the middle and it would not be noticable .
Watch this space .
Ted
