    P.s i used a skew to make mine too!!!
    I had someone who was not too happy with the skew that is why I made this one just as an example, like yourself I make the hollow form/bowl first the design the finial to suit .

    I hope my first post did not offend as that is not my intention.

    No offence taken, any advice or comments given I will always
    take on board, that is the way to learn what we do and from
    other woodturners given freely I am happy to accept that
