Burl versus White Ants.
I was really looking forward to turning this burl.
It had laid on the ground at my friends place for a couple of years.
Sliced it up & found that the white ants have had a field day.
These are a few pieces that I managed to salvage.

Before you introduce the Burl to your shed/work area I'd microwave the burl for short bursts to remove the remaining sods.
Pity about the burl-Scott

Okay so you can't turn it. But it looks fantastic, there must be some sort of design opertunity/ interior design application/ sculpture in whats left.
But I agree, Nuke it - just to be sure!Dragonfly

Well, I rescued a few pen blanks out of the other pieces, so all is not lost.
No need to nuke it, I just stood it on a black ant nest & I got several minutes entertainment into the bargain... plus the black ants had a good feed.

If you haven't cut up the main damaged one, send it to me and I'll show you what can be done with a bit of casting

If you are prepared to pay postage that's ok by me.
It weighs 4 kilo & is 50cm x 30cm x 11cm.
