    Default Two Burrs

Latest two pieces of the stock of burrs that I have. Both of these are Chestnut burrs.

The first is a 10 1/2" X 4" one with an oil finish. This one seemed to want to play up and pull fibres at every cut no matter at the tool presentation or sharpness of the tool. I finally managed to tame it with a spray of water to expand the fibres and get a good finish off of the tool.

The second is a smaller one but coloured with spirit stain and then lacquered this piece was kind to me and cut just nice. This one is 4 1/2" X 2 1/4" so a lot small than the first.

I really like the first one Derek. Its a beautiful piece of wood, nice shape and well turned as always. Thanks for posting.
