Cam lock mechanism ?
G'day folks,
Hoping someone can help me. My antique wood lathe is just about vibration free now after mod number 5327, all I need now is to make a locking mechanism for the sliding bed and was looking at making a cam lock mechanism but either I'm searching for the wrong thing, ( like the mechanism that locks the banjo and tailstock) or it must be some super secret device that I dont have the password for.
If anyone has a link to plans on how they work and are made it would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Ross.Last edited by fozz; 5th September 2012 at 04:41 PM. Reason: typo/spelling error

This is for a tailstock camlock on a 9x20 metal lathe, but the principle is the same
Steve Bedair's 9 x 20 Lathe Site
Another one here for x 7x12 mini metal lathe

....and yet another one

Thanks for the links Fred, interesting reading.
I'll have to take some more pics to explain what I'm actually after, will do that tomorrow.
