    Default Camphor bowl

    Hi guys , found a nice piece of crutch camphor, with beautiful colours and figure with some feathering
    420mm x 120mm , finished with 10 coats of DO , left to dry , then EEE and Glow
    Any comments and advice welcome

    Going by the side pic, it looks like the wood has moved a bit? That's hardly surprising for a crotch piece and I'm guessing most people wouldn't pick it.

    I like the form; nice, simple and lets the figure speak for itself.

    Another nice job Smiife, I very much like the simple form, no need for complex embellishments, the wood will do that by itself. The camphor that grows up here does not produce those colours, you have done it proud.

    I also like the small foot.

    The rim seems to be a little distorted, is that the photo, or timber movement?

    Nice bowl there smiife, lots of character in that piece of wood. The finish looks to have come up well.

    Hi Jim , yeah , as Skew said the rim has moved a bit , will just let it do it,s thing and see what happens

    Thanks Tony , yeah, it did finish well , 10 coats of DO , then I let it dry for a few days, and then EEE and Glow..... cheers .
