Can't do it anymore.
Haven't been active on the site (or the lathe) for some time due to health issues. Sadly these issues mean I can no longer continue turning and that we will be moving to a warmer climate.
Consequently I will be selling all of my gear and a literal truck load of blanks (100+) burls and timber including Sheoak, jarrah, wandoo, gidge, salmon gum, olive, sandalwood, mallee, jam, jacaranda, camphor, pear, mulberry, gimlet, norfolk pine, peppermint, york gum, morrel and more.
I have a Nova 3000 with outboard attachment, 3 chucks, 2 cole jaws, approx 40 assorted gouges, skews, scrapers etc, respirator, 2 bench saws, band saw, dust collector, paper, polishes, pen kits pot pourris etc, etc.
If you know someone starting out then here is all they need. Someone will get a bargain as I want to get rid of it as a job lot and will price it accordingly.
As I said, they will need a truck or a really big trailer. Alternatively they could buy the house and leave the gear in place!
I have loved my time turning and already miss it but will console myself by slaying piscatorial creatures up north.

Hang in there, and don't rush into things.
I'm battery operated these days after a significant heart attack in 2007 and complications plus I get bouts of vertigo that can last weeks. I can still manage to get some lathe time and l work full time. For the first six months after my MI I though my world had ended, life was not worth living like that, but life improves significantly with some illnesses / conditions if you are prepared to put in some effort. Work with your specialists and medical professionals and tell them what you want to achieve so collectively you can find solutions that work for you. Quality of life and fulfillment is a great motivator and healer.
I've been asked quite a number of times to have a chat with another wood turner / worker who is facing a similar road ahead and have managed to give them reassurance that it does get better, and to hold off on making rash decisions for a while at least.
I sincerely hope you have a condition that can be managed well, and that life improves markedly for you.Mobyturns

Thanks for your comments and encouragement Gentlemen.
I have a trifecta - one of the conditions I can manage but the second and third are sure stoppers for turning. I will surely miss the wood but as I said previously, there are an awful lot of fish up north just waiting to be caught. I can hear them calling me now.......

Damn technology! Willy, I have tried to PM you twice but my sent box does not say anything has gone. Please ring me 90611360 or email [email protected]
(My Son reckons I am the leading Australian Luddite - hate technology!)

Thanks Bedford. This is clearly a case of "read the instructions first" But isn't that what Kids and Wives are for?
Sorry Willy, you are probably now over communicated.

Bag limits mean nothing to those of us who aim to catch only enough to eat on the day. Can't beat fresh seafood straight out of the ocean and onto the plate with only a brief stop on the bbq if necessary! Though I must say that sometimes it is lucky I fish only for the two of us - very occasionally the fish choose not to co-operate.

Sorry to hear. I have plenty of takers on this side of Aus but nothing that side apart from those you already know.
So where do you plan to move?Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new

Sorry to hear about the health issues, hope the move helps!
I'm not in a position to take the whole lot as I already have a lathe but if you wind up splitting things I'd be interested in a bench saw, the dust collector and some timber!
All the best mate.
