    Default Off-centre turned candle holders.

An easy way to use up smaller diameter tree branches that have a decent grain pattern. Turned 6 of these off-centre tea light holders yesterday and three went out the door last night. The wife's friends seem to like them.

    From locally sourced salmon gum.

Thanks mate. The wood is salmon gum, which is in plentiful supply around here (most commonly burned firewood in the Goldfields). The finish is U-Beaut "EEE" Ultra Shine with home made "shine juice" friction polish applied.

Stop giving me food for thought! - This would work nicely with some of our heavily fluted trees like Inland Rosewood and Prickly-leaved Paperbark . . . one day!

They look good, but have you ever tried inside out turning. That can get very interesting when you get to more than 2 sections

    Why it's on it's side ???

To be honest, the others look more natural and inviting, while you show your very good skills, yours is too artificial for my tastes

That was a moment of madness Ray and just to see if I could do it. I can assure you it will not be repeated, but I really like the 2 part versions. They are much more elegant.

Things don't have to be complicated to be lovely and that's one of the thoings I like about BMCal's off centre holders. I love the way that the faults have been left as they are. Mankind has tried for ever to improve on nature. He ain't made it yet.

These are more in my line of likes, just 2 part and easy to do.

I would love to know why they are coming up on their side when they are correct in Finder on my Mac?

I won't put any more photos on this thread as I have no wish to hijack it, sorry BMC.
