    Default Champhor Laurel Burl

I have a champhor laurel burl.
It was cut down in June 2019. It is almost completely round. the burl is large.
I will measure it if I get some interest. it takes two of us to lift and one big mans arms will reach around it.
The burl has not been cut in any way. It was cut with two hand-spans of tree protruding either end.
I have been told that champhor laurel burls are rare as the tree has various strategies to protect itself.

I am not a wood worker nor is it my passion. I would like some advice on where to sell this and what is a reasonable price.
thank you all for your help
    regards Lillian

    Hello Lillian.
I cannot help you with pricing. But some photos would assist.

    Hi Lillian,

Not many people have a lathe big enough to handle something that big - but I do fortunately so please post some photos.

    Default champhor laurel burl

the burl is 630 cm through the middle.
my sister has her arms around it. and my beer is there while I take the photo to give scale to the pictures.
then we ran. wild dogs down there make it too scary to linger. needed the beer for courage.
the bloke that dropped it said he hasn't seen a champhor burl in all his 40 years of falling.
apparently champhor laurel is very proactive in repelling insects and other invaders.
    not my area of expertise.
I am in Nobbys Creek in northern NSW.
I hope somebody finds this interesting and can possibly send me a pic of the burl sliced.

Camphor burls rare, pink and brown inside.
Worth? a few hundred dollars whole, more if sliced and they are sold individually

LOL it is on my land. I have 30 acres of bush and 5 acres I have been weeding. removing camphor infestation.
got some nice gumtrees that are starting to pick up now that they are not choked by camphor.
this burl is at the bottom of the paddock.
but is in the path of the wild dogs. we lost a sheep and a goat last tuesday.
they sit in the open watching us.
council is no help, neither is local land council.
got a shooter from the local rifle club putting in paperwork to get permission to shoot.
    it all just takes time.
    life is interesting. lol
