    Default Chisel ID

I was given this P&N chisel and havent seen one before. Can someone ID it for me please. It has a 16mm shaft and a very shallow flute. I dont know what its used for or how it should be sharpened (angles etc).
    Thanks

Looks like the “detail gouge”, typically used for beads, coves etc

Yes, detail gouge, primarily used with spindle work.

With care, it can be used to do some 'detail' work on bowls, but at 16mm it is a bit large for that purpose.

Richard Raffan uses them more on bowls that most other turners as that was what we had before bowl gouges became more readily availble.
    Stay sharp and stay safe!

Looks like a machined version of a continental spindle gouge which is normally forged.
