Default P&N Chisel with Unusal Grind - What should I do with it?

As part of lathe purchase I got a bunch of chisels thrown in including a few P&N which will go nice with a few P&N I secured last year.

I have a chisel 25mm wide 6mm thick - both edges are square not round like a skews which have one rounded edge.

The last owner ground it interesting. The leading edge is square to the sides. However one side the bevel is ground at a 45º and on the opposite side the bevel is ground 45º in the opposite direction. Looking at it end on it looks like diamond shape.

My question what was this chisel originally and what can I turn it into or is this a legitimate grind and I should just keep it?

Grind it into something you can use.
No point trying to work out what the previous owner had in mind

Looks like a paint tin opener with a grind like that.

Its a "skewdan" the illegitimate offspring between a common skew and a French bedan.

Honestly, I have no idea - but it could be a very useful grind in the hands of the originator.

Grind it to whatever you need. Looks like it may have been used as a sheer scraper.

I think I will turn it into a French bedan it looks like a tool I would find useful.

    I'd go for a negative rake scraper . . . the bedans are generally 10mm to 13mm wide (3/8 - 1/2")

Not seen anything like that in my 50yrs of turning... definitely not a standard P&N grind.

My initial thought was also a bedan, but the edge needs to be on the end for that.

If I'm understanding what I'm seeing, the edge looks like it is on the side.... so possibly for scraping inside of small straight sided boxes... ?
