    Default chuck making weird noise????

Hi I just finished making a bowl. Turned the lathe speed downs to do the sanding. Well the chuck as I turn it around by hands sounds like there is like a ball bearing rolling around could this be the case? Is it safe to continue? Do you know what it might be. Hubby sick in bed so I rather not disturb him if I can get some help.
Sorry I just stopped to find out if I can Does anyone know?

    Hi Toni,
There is a large nut in the back of the chuck called the insert.
It is locked in place with a small grub screw.
I the grub screw comes loose, the insert will loosen and rattle.
Tighten the insert, and then tighten the grub screw

Very smart of you Toni to fix it without the help of your hubby.
