Cooroora Wood & Craft Show Pics
The Cooroor Wood and Craft Show was held in Coory on Friday and Saturday - and here are a couple of last minute (and very modest) photos showing some of the Turning prizewinners.
Bob Chaplin was awarded Club Champ with his beautifully crafted segmented Winged Bowl. Another of Bobs suberb creations is alongside - a segmented Potpourri Bowl. In the rear of the photo is a Dennis Donnelly Camphor Bowl, and to the right a Brushbox Burl Bowl by Jeff Fraser.
First Prize in the Club Masters went to Dennis Donnelly with a brilliant Ringed Gidgee Bowl (the photo totally doesn't do it justice). Behind Dennis' bowl, our President John Gygar took second prize in Intermediate Turning with a Euc Burl Bowl w carved gecko. To the left, another of Jeff's Brushbox Burl Bowls.
"The Moon Rose Over an Open Field" - Ed Boyd won First in the Intermediates with this Camphor and Huon work of art.
A great weekend of wood. Well done to all competitors, participants and the organisers.

Some nice pieces. Did you get photos of the other pieces that were submitted?

another two of my entries . . . . a Camphor Vase (240mm wide at top x 172mm high), and a Mulberry Vase (140 x 175)
and I've put the word out to see if I can round up some more pics.

Another couple of views of the Mulberry piece; plus pics of another recently completed Mulberry Bowl, with natural edge. Nice wood to turn, easy on the tools, nice to sand and finishes nicely with Kunos Oil
Still waiting on my mates to post a few more pics - should happen in a day or 3.
One show done and dusted for another year, but busy this week preparing for the Tall Trees Art Exhibition in Cooran, Qld this weekend https://www.facebook.com/groups/680525248670662/
