    Default couple of platters

    hi guys
    decided i better post these pics just to show i do turn stuff other than pens
    1st i a pennyleaf platter with a heap of sapwood i think i really fluked it in the way i cut and turned it 2nd is a raintree crotch platter about 420mm across
    and the last is a qld maple chip n dip with a ceramic dip container the piece of maple didnt look anything to start with nearly going to give it away at my club
    all finished with about 6 coats of rustins danish oil

    I have some Pennyleak but haven't tried turning it yet.

    I have turned both Raintree & QLD Maple.... the QLD Maple is much easier to get a good finish on, the Raintree is a bit of a challenge.
