Danish Oil Smell
Hi All.
Recently I have been using Danish Oil on a few turnings but I find that the smell is quite overpowering. Does anyone know if it is possible to add anything to it to change the smell? Or are there other products that any of you use that give the same quality finish without the smell?
Thanks.Steve

You could use organ oil. That smells pretty.

Just on the QT, there is something new in the offering from U-Beaut in the very near future. Next to no smell and a great alternative to all of the other oils on the market today.
Enough said. SHHH!! It's a big secret that's about a month off. But it should give oilers a whole new perspective on the job.

Hi Steve. I use Rustins D.O.occassionly Doesn't smell too bad. Stings like b#~**@?^y if you get it in a cut!
But don't use it much since I discovered our Grand Poohbahs marvellous product Triple E(or should that be EEE?) This has got to be the best thing since sliced bread for the average amateur turner, covereing as it does a multitude of sins (scratches). Also it won't set fire to your workshop!

Thanks John.
I also use EEE Creme and, like you, have found it to be a great product. I've been using oil on timbers such as Jarrah burl, though as it tends to have cracks, knots etc and if I were to use EEE or Shellawax I find it gets in the cracks and looks funny. Unless I'm using them incorrectly, of course....
I will definitely be looking forward to the new (secret) UBeaut product, though!Steve
