    Question Drill bit size gauges

OK all the canny shoppers out there:

Where can I buy drill bit size gauges for both imperial and metric bits without having to pay exhorbitant freight via Amazon??

I'm looking for 1/64'' increments and a minimum 0.5mm increments.

I find using a set of digital callipers that has metric, as well as decimal inch, and fractional (to 64th's) inch readouts is as easy to use as a gauge and much more useful for other things.

I use LCD callipers that display metric, imperial and fractional read outs. Carba-tec sells one that reads to 1/128ths. Hope that helps.

I didn't know that there was such an animal. On my shopping list.

A normal metric/imperial digital caliper is handy, but not much chop when you need to convert to 64ths or 32nds for drill bit sizing.

People who sell drills have wall size charts. Here is a PDF:

Bunnings has this, not very comprehensive:

Try an engineers shop, they might have a good metal one.

Here are a bunch of drill indexes. Try some engineers supply places locally.

    Thumbs up

    Thanks everyone!!!

Found them at Hare and Forbes after a lot of searching.

Many of my drills have unreadable shanks so a gauge is what I need.

I am in the midst of getting the shed properly sorted and want to store my drill bits with sizes marked so I can
get the right sized drill when I need it.
