Egg on a pedestal
This was one of my pieces in the National Wood turning Exhibition recently. Photoes hurriedly taken before racing off to deliver them. Looking at them now I think I will have to get some more taken Maybe in focus this time. Anyway, .......
Spalted figured Blackwood, Holly and Queen ebony. Sanded to some stupidly fine grit and finished with Rustins Danish oil and traditional wax. This received a first place in the lidded box section. Novice of course.
The other piece was a platter. No pics of that at the moment. (That also received a first place in the platter section, and Second overall in the Novice section. Am I allowed to skite? ) ( Too late. ) I didn't get to skite much at the exhibition cos I missed the presentation. Was fiddling about in the shed practicing chasing threads so I didn't forget wheat we learned from Jim. Looked up thinking I'd better leave soon and it was 4 30. Should have been there already.anne-maria.

Youre allowed to skite, enjoy it as well. Good job too. Next one will have the egg in two parts and threaded as well. That yellow stuff we had at the gtg would make a good egg, colour might be a but sus though?

Tea Lady, with a set of awards like that you can 'skite' all you like, but is that like 'Boast' or 'Crow'?

Beautiful TL , congratulations
I assume since you won the lidded box prize, the egg is hollow.Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new
