end of an era
I attended the auction of stock and fittings at Melbourne Furniture Timber today.
A small crowd attended including a few forum members
plenty of bargains but some prices were above retail (especially the wenge)
I didnt stick around to the end as had a prior commitment so dont know how it ended but there were a few big spenders buying up heaps so hopefully some of the stock will make it back to retail.
I managed to pickup a few boxes of samples plenty of pen blanks from some very varied spieces, according to Lester(owner) some of them go back over 50 years
Just have to think where I'll store them now. Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything, but they
bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs .

I'm certain some of the members on here, would be happy to store some of them for you. I know I would if I were closer

The Auction.
Hi Fubar,
Well I'm sure, like us we all had a great Day.
We will have to go to Market Timbers now for that much needed Wood.
Very surprised that there were less than 100 people there.
There sure were a lot of bargain prices taken there.
There were a couple of Chaps there that spent X amount $'s, like there was no tomorrow.
They seemed to what what was what about Timber Prices.
It has all been sold up completely, no more AFT. 5M for the land they say.Regards,
issatree.
