Experimenting.
A couple of months back I had reason to cut down several trees on our block before they became too big to handle, one was a Brazilian Cedar and another a Spotted Gum. I kept the larger sections of the cedar for use later but I had some of the branches that were worthwhile keeping to experiment with. I have had this idea to turn small items following lines inspired by the ceramic artist Les Blakebrough and use these pieces to explore different texture technigues.
Here is the results of my first three efforts. I plugged the central core for stability.
Critique welcome.

I think you've made a few amazing things out of what appears to be a fairly bland wood. I really like the foot arrangement of the black pot.
And the pyrography work is very well done as well.Dragonfly
No-one suspects the dragonfly!

Very nice work. There is a lot of inspiration in some pottery.

Very, very nice indeed . I reckon they would go well in a gallery situation - very modern look.

Both larger ones are 140mm H x 100mm dia. with 3mm wall thickness
small 100mm H x 80mm dia top to 25mm base with 1.5mm wall.
The black one ended up that colour due to a vertical crack that developed after turning and it was filled with black resin. I originally planned to pyro trees using the fill as a starting frame but then decided to paint black and finish as you see.......thanks everyone for your kind comments....cheers Kerry
