    Default Extension table folding legs

I have an old Triton Mk3 workcentre and extension table and I plan on making a few upgrades.

i am getting rid of the steel legs and building a cabinet. The extension table will form a left wing with a router table on the right. The workcentre will be removable so i can put in a mitre saw or thicknesser which will be stored underneath. This will allow maximum use of the extensions and a beisemeyer style fence I am installing.

however, I need the wings to fold down to save space for storage.

The problem: I want the whole cabinet to be 1000mm hight with castors, and the extension table is approx 940mm x 940mm with the fence.

what is the best way of having fold away legs when the length of them is longer than the storage space?

    Dave

Mid-height hinge with over-center latch on the open side of the joint.

Folding brace that locks onto side of cabinet instead of legs? (Careful of making it too "tippy" though).
Detachable legs that you store some place else.
Consider steel tube for compact size and strength vs wood.
