This Finishing Thing.
Hi All,
Depends on what I have Turned, & how good I have finished with what ever Tool I last used.
80G sometimes, 120 other times, through to 400, & if need be up to 2500, & as someone said either Tootie or Tissue Paper, leaves an amazing finish, & if I'm Turning at 3000 RPM. then I finish on the same speed.
I fairly touchy on my finishes, as I like it spot on, & the Speed makes no difference, well not on my work anyway
I certainly do not resort to Brushing The Dust off on my work, & I like my finish.
I have of late been using Neil & Pauline's " Aussie Oil ". Great Stuff.
Been Turning some Lace Bobbins, sanding up to 1000G as I never brought any more with me, Paper Towel, next the The Oil, maybe 2 - 3 Coats.
Great Finish & quite pleased with the finish, but to go straight to raw wood, wonderful.Regards,
issatree.
