    Default Figured Myrtle bowls

I bought a slab of figured Myrtle some years ago at the Working with Wood Show and at long last I cut it up and made 2 shallow bowls from it. The larger one has a diameter of some 400 mm and the small one around 280 mm and the height is about 40 mm The wood has quite a bit of spalting, some rot and worm holes as well. The real product looks better than the pictures.

Eye-catching grain and colour and well finshed - nice stuff!

    Default great stuff.

Ya gotta love Myrtle for its colour and figure, I found it easy to turn and sand.

Great looking pieces, reminds me to get some more.

Many thanks for looking and for all the positive comments, but on the other hand I would accept negative feedback as well.

Oh, Okay then. The table you took the photos of your platters looks like it could do with a clean.
