    Default Figured Qld Maple

    Thought i'd share these pics of one of my favourite bowls,the timber is Qld Maple,quarter-sawn,and at its very best!!..MM

    Certainly a beautiful piece of timber, well done . The grain is so intense, it gives various optical illusions - curved rim, the bottom is the top, the top is the bottom etc, depends on your eyes I guess

    Cheers Scott,i reckon it is the prettiest Qld Maple that i ever milled,in that the fiddleback goes deep into the quarter.The tree was a huge paddock grown fellow,and they always produce timber of the highest quality...MM

    Cheers Neil,the grain is fully intense,and viewing from certain angles does make it three dimensional..MM
