final final finish
Hi all, just wondering if you generally do a final clear coat over your finishes to keep them in good shape?
If not what finishes last for a very long time other then the polywipes and so forth?

My bowls and pens are finished either with EEE and Shellawax Glow, or just sanded and then finished with several coats of clear acrylic ( I use White Knight Crystal Clear Acrylic in spray cans) either in Gloss or Satin. Most pens are finished in CA but this little duck can't get a good enough finish so he avoids it. The bowls and pens finished with clear acrylic last well; some were done over 5 years ago. The other benefit of the acrylic is that it is touch dry in 20 minutes and can be recoated after 1 hour. But that's in sunny Sydney, so Canberra might take a hell of a lot longer!
