Finishing an old one and a couple of new ones
I am on a week of leave so have finished the bowl I started at Willy's and made other two as well.
The one from Willy's is a Jarrah burl with a textured rim. The rim was textured with a Sorby texturing tool which is now on my wish list of tools to get
The Qld Maple one is from a blank I picked up from Mapleman at last years Sydney show.
The one with a blue rim is a piece of Camphor. I have a few plain pieces of wood and have been playing with the idea of an inlayed rim for a while. I cut a rebate about 3mm deep and put the blue glitter in the rebate and set with thin CA. Left it overnight and then sanded down the next morning. I expected to have a few problems with it but happy to say it turned out better than I had hoped.
Finish on all bowls is Kunos Oil. Was good to get back in the shed again and hopefully I can work through a few more in the next few weeks

Glitter is just from the local news agency, I got two tubes for ~ $3 and used half of one for the bowl.
Sizes are as follows:
Jarrah - 170x50 (mm)
Camphor - 240x60 (mm)
Qld Maple - 270x35 (mm)
Thanks for the favourable commentsIt's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Hello Corbs
Nice Bum!. On the bowl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I finished a couple just like it last night, you have done a good job.
I would also like to complement you on the other bowls, especially the blue glitter. (must be reflections of the mirror ball in your shed.
Cheers
