Fitting handle to a flared tang
I am in the process of making a tool handle for a heavy scraper which has a flared tang but this one flares outwards so that it wider at the start ie opposite to a file. On a file you can use 2 or 3 different drill bits to accomodate the angled tang but how do you handle this type of situation?

turn a handle, spit it down the middle, carve out the tang shape, reglue the handle and scraper together.

Thanks, guys. The grinder idea is certainly quick. Bob, can you conceal the split after gluing?

Drill the hole in the handle to accommodate the widest part of the tang, fit the tool into the handle and fill the cavities up with epoxy glue. Or do what suggested so long as it leaves a big enough tang for the scraper.

I saw an American site (don't ask where though)where they fitted a tang similar to yours.
In principal, they drilled a hole into the handle as large as the widest part of the tang. They then drilled down into a dowel (drill size as small as the tang size appearing out of the handle) then split a dowel into quarters and shaved each quartered length to fit the profile as it slid into the handle against the tang and tapped all 4 quarters home until snug. From memory no glue was used. Clear as mud? Hope it helps.
