    A good video, and a couple of pretty useful tips as well.

    That's the biggest faceplate I've seen so far.
    I was surprised to see how well centred it all was before you started turning, too.

    I don't think I'll be tackling anything that large for a long time, if ever. And definitely not on my current mini-lathe.

    Good points you brought up about the risks when working inside; the collected shavings, overhead 'hazard' & working at the end of the rest.

    For a while there I was wondering how you'd part off such a mass from the faceplate without it going for a spin out the shed door... but screws are a wonderful invention.
    I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.
