Thread: Free blackwood

Hi

In the next week our local power people will be coming to cut down two blackwoods from our property. They have been pruned over the years so there is a solid stump about 8inch across but only a metre or so high. From there there a branches that are different sizes growing upwards. They are not pretty to look at.

I have no way of saving this stuff as I am between sheds so if anyone wants to come along and cut some for turning you are most welcome. Or you can come when they are cutting them down and grab what you want before they chip it all.

I will take some snaps tomorrow of the trees.

If you are interested send me a PM. I am happy for you north islanders to get a sth island mate to come and get it and store it for you but sadly I dont have the time to cut and store it for anyone.

NB: I have heard that this stuff is bad for your lungs when turning so caveat emptor !
