GFM K 1440 Wood Lathe
Hi All
I just bought my self a GFM K 1440 Wood Lathe second hand and I want to buy a chuck for it and wondered what size screw would I need for the mount I have been out of woodwork and wood turning for many years and are struggling to remember sizes etc

Your lathe is one of the many variants / clones of a basic wood lathe, similar to the Aldi, Ryobi, GMC etc. If you search those names on this forum you may find multiple posts on the question you have asked. Some have an m18-2.5mm spindle thread, others have a 3/4" x 8 spindle thread.
Despite being sold in the tens of thousands, unfortunately there are not a lot of readily available accessories for them. Please be aware that they are a lightly constructed lathe and have very well known issues with breakages of tools rests, & tool banjos.
