    Default What it this Gizmo?

    Hi All,
I'm new to woodturning and recently bought a secondhand MC1100 lathe.

With the lathe I got the Gizmo shown in the attached photo. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what it does and how it connects to the lathe.

Does anyone recognize this gadget and know how it works?

    Thank you in advance,

    Izak

I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

Nice and hefty - maybe you could use it to attach to out-of-balance bowl blanks
