Goblets for critique and advice.
Hi all,
It's been a while since I've had time to do any woodwork for pleasure, but enforced quarantine has its benefits.
First time I've used my grandfather's large and chisels, first time turning goblets, first time turning in approx ten years.
The timber is a sub main trunk off a cumquat tree we cut down 8ish years ago.
You can see some tool marks, one blackened line got half sanded out, couple of chips. But, rather pleased with the result. Max diameter would be about 50mm.
What would you recommend to finish it with that: retains the light colour; is foodsafe; doesn't taint the liquid? I was going to go a mineral oil and beeswax mix 5:1.IMG_20200328_131734.jpgIMG_20200328_131734.jpgI forgot what i was taught, I only remember what I have learnt
