Different grind
Thought you might be interested in the way Claude in Italy grinds some of his bowl gouges. Says this helps with turning in tight interior spots.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but I think that's the same grind as the tool I use for turning spinning tops.
A lady-finger profile, with a very "acute" base bevel?

So a double bevel?
Perfectly do-able and useful for deeper bowls.
If you look at the Wood Central article on grinds some folk even grind a convex bevel.
So hack into your best gouge Artme and tell us how it goes ;-}Cheers, Ern
