Brendan,
an interesting video, and raises a couple of questions. Part way through (when it shows the stationary cutters) the caption says they need to be set up by a skilled machinist, is that Wolf or... well, where you find someone who can do that theses days?, and
It's a Hammer Lathe, to me hammer handles are elliptical in cross section, does it (did it) have a cam action to create this shape although now not used or possible removed?
