Hands Woodturning Event in SA
Turn SA is the resurrected version of SATurn which had to fold this year.
The event will be held on weekend of 22 - 24 August at Lucindale SA.
This event needs your support.
SATurn was a wonderful hands event like Turnaround Downunder and Grampians U Turn so there is no reason why this one will be any different.
Ray and Heather Cottee have been good enough to get this event going so if you would like to go contact them via email on: [email protected]
I'll be there, along with Carrolls and a host of others worth catching up with
PLEASE SUPPORT THIS EVENT

I believe a few people from the Western Wood Working Club in Adelaide are going, but I don't think I'll be one of them this year
SteveThe fact remains, that 97% of all statistics are made up, yet 87% of the population think they are real.

There should be a big SA turnout as it is only just down the road for them, there is an advantage for Victorians as it is closerJim Carroll

As a newcomer to turning, I've never been to one of these events. Are they displays and/or demos or are visitors able to turn there?

All these turnaround events are where guys bring along their lathes, tools etc , set themselves up for a weekend of turning, chatting , eating, socialising etc, go home sunday evening completely shattered as they have been busier than they usually would be at home.
Days for some start at day break and finish when someone says it is time to turn the lights out.
They are generally a closed event due to insurance issues, so if not registered you may not be able to visit
A great weekend to see what others are doing , learn some new techniques and generally have a good time. There is always someone willing to help where neededJim Carroll

Can you still attend without a lathe for a look see?
-

Usually yes, just you pay like everyone else, but you can sometimes get to use someone else's lathe.
ps the local event to you similar to TurnSA is Q-Turn, held at Lake Moogerah 3rd week in June. It is run by the Ipswich club, and the strange thing is that the Gold Coast club is the closest, but I am the only one that has attendedNeil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new
