"The Hatchling"
"The Hatchling"
This piece is made from Teak (the claw) and Sapele (the egg & hatchling) The egg was turned then the carving was mostly hand carved I did use the Dremel on parts of the claw (for speedy removal of large sections) The finish is Danish Oil and the project finished a 7" x 8 1/2" tall.Jack Of All Master Of None

I think "wow" could be a bit of an understatement. "Bloody wow!" sounds a bit better.

Very impressive. I haven't seen anything like that as a wood piece.

I've had a few people on various sites and a potential customer ask for photos of "The Hatchling" with more light, here are a few.

Your welcome, yes I have sold some of my pieces when the price is right. The slabs of wood I start with cost a bit of $$$ to start with then the idea, time spent making each piece plus the time over the years learning how to make art piece like I do go into my pricing. Thanks for looking and commenting.
