Help needed 19th October 2010 in Kingston
G'day Fellas and Ladies,
My name is Dean. I'm a teacher at Groves Christian College in Kingston south of Brisbane. I teach workshop subjects and technical drawing. The long and short of it is:
- We have an art showcase on the 19th October, 2010
- I do teach basic turning to my students, but
- would love for an expert to come and show some students, parents and fellow teachers what can really be achieved on the lathe.
- I'm thinking, half an hour demo, bring some interesting things to show
- then get a few boys turning something. 1.5 hrs max from 4:30 - 6:00pm
- Could even set up a table of things you have for sale if you want.
- I have 4 lathes in the workshop, and some small blanks to turn bowls
thanking - you
Deano

Dean, I hope someone up your way has the time and inclination to help you out. There are so many very talented people out there who would be able to amaze the kids and parents. If we want our chosen art or hobby to continue for many years to come, we need to be able to show it to the public and generate enthusiasm.
