    Post need help with bowl turning tools


    I would like to get into bowl turning but don't know which tools I need. Could you please tell me which basic tools are a must have for turning bowls about 8 inches and smaller? I would like to get the essential tools first then add more as needed.

    Gooday.

    The basic bowl turning tools I would suggest for starters are:
    3/8" deep fluted bowl turning gouge.
    1" round nose scraper.

    You can do most bowls with these 2 tools. If you go bigger then I would suggest a 1/2" deep fluted bowl turning gouge.
