    just try the skate board shop for wheels, and they have a huge choice! but you can get up graded bearings

    When I needed them for my 3 wheel steady I went for a walk along the road side shopping mall (hard rubbish collection ) and picked up about 5 pairs of old inline skates for nothing. Used the best and gave away most of the rest to others.

    Still have enough to make a larger one for the bigger lathe if I need them.

    hi guys,
    made this steady on the weekend,might still have to
    get better wheels,the bolts get a bit hot and have
    melted the wheels ,,.....so back to the drawing board
    the rest seems ok ,just needs better wheels
    please let me know what you think,,,good or bad

    Generally looks good. What are the wheels off?

    I used in-line skate wheels on mine no melting, I picked the pair of skates up for $10 gave me 8 wheels from Sallies boutique.


    Edited to add: Just saw you post re making me a steady like your first one Thanks for the offer but I made one just prior you making that one and am onto making another ATM this ones not for me tho.

    the wheels i just got at bunnies $1.98 each...........i now know
    why they were that cheap...,after only a couple of minutes
    on the lathe they were melting
    i had a look at your steady ,,.........wow that looks good
    i didn't even think about sanding,finishing,painting..i was
    concentrating on getting the damn thing to work
